The Harbour Orthopaedics fitout is a shared space for two surgeons Dr Darrin Marshall and Dr Mathew Broadhead that specialise in different orthopaedic disciplines. The design brief was to design specialist rooms that combined two separate practices and tenacies into one combined space. Located in the Specialist Medical Building adjacent to Coffs Harbour Health Campus, Natural Habitat designed and planned the reception desks to mirror reverse of each other, yet share a common waiting area. The offices, staff kitchens and bathroom facilities were then tailored to each doctor’s specific requirements.
Designed with mobility and easy access as a priority, the space was designed to be uncluttered and professional without being clinical or intimidating. Playing on the “O” in orthopaedics and featuring curved joinery design to soften the space, a simple timeless palette of charcoal, white and timber freshened with plenty of greenery and large expansive windows make is a pleasant and elegant fitout that we had a lot of fun executing.
